Pakistan Flood Relief Monsoon rains have caused the worst flooding in Pakistan in 80 years, submerging roads and bridges and cutting off survivors from critical supplies of medicine, food and clean water. 20 million people have been affected by this disaster - more than the number of people affected by the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, Hurricane Katrina, and the 2010 Haiti earthquake combined. This includes 1.5 million Afghan refugees living in Monsoon struck areas. MFR is partnering with UNHCR the UN Refugee Agency to help provide shelter and supplies to those in need. Haiti Earthquake Relief On Tuesday January 12, 2010 a 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck Haiti just 10 miles Southwest of Port-au-Prince, a city of 2 million people. Haiti is already the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere in which 85% of the population lives in extreme poverty, unprepared to deal with a disaster of this magnitude.
