6.3 EARTHQUAKE SHAKES NEW ZEALAND
A violent 6.3 magnitude earrthquake struck in the southern New Zealand city of Christchurch on February 22, 2011. The quake was centered just 3 miles outside of the town. As a result, power has gone out, roads have been destroyed and buildings are now in ruins. Our thoughts are with those affected by this tragedy.

MASSIVE CYCLONE HITS AUSTRALIAN COAST
One of the most powerful cyclones to date has hit Cairns, Australia, threatening tourist cities and causing major flooding in Queensland state.
Rail lines, coal ports and mines have all been shut down because of threats that the storm will drive inland.
150,000 homes were without power and authorities are warning that the cyclone could destroy "cyclone proof" houses.
