Today Music for Relief and Tree People planted 30 trees to reforest Stetson Ranch Park in Sylmar, CA!

In 2008 Sylmar saw two fires that burned over 35,000 acres and displaced some 50,000 people. Before we began planting volunteers removed the dry brush that had grown back where the fires had burned out all the trees. SOUTHERN CA WILDFIRE

Another wildfire is burning in Southern California near Wrightwood. Residents have been evacuated as firefighters work to contain the flames. As of Sunday evening the fire had burned 7,500 acres and was 20% contained according to U.S. Forest Service officials. The fire destroyed three homes shortly after it began about 2 p.m. on Saturday in the Lytle Creek area east of Mt. Baldy and west of the Cajon Pass.

TWO MAJOR EARTHQUAKES HIT INDONESIA

The Indonesian island of Sumatra was hit by a powerful 7.6 magnitude earthquake on Wednesday September 30th followed by a second quake on Thursday October 1st.
