4:30am found all the China-bound AFSers drowsily boarding a bus for the airport. Nothing worth mentioning really happened from LA to San Fran. From San Fran to China was 11 hours of excitement. August 19, 2009.
I hardly slept the night before, rushing around in circles trying to collect my thoughts and other last minute things... I hadn't expected a calm, collected night's sleep beforehand anyways, so I didn't care. Looking back I think it was mostly that I just had to distract myself. I was about to start out on something big, and now that it was down to the wire, staring me in the face, I really had to just go and not think.

In conjunction with Shanghai Roots & Shoots, $1 per ticket from Linkin Park's China concerts in 2009 were donated to the Million Tree Project to help reforest the Inner Mongolian Desert. To date the contributions have totaled 6597 trees in the Music for Relief forest
(4767 from the Shanghai concert and 1830 from the Macau concert)!

Typhoon Mirinae brought strong winds and heavy rain to Vietnam on Monday after hitting the Philippines over the weekend killing 16 people and destroying thousands of homes. Emergency teams worked to clear roads of fallen trees, boulders and mud after the typhoon left the country. Roads are buried or submerged by flood waters in areas south of Manila and as of Monday vast areas are still without electricity.
