HURRICANE KATRINA & NEW ORLEANS FLOODS: 5 YEAR ANNIVERSARY

It's been 5 years since Hurricane Katrina struck the U.S. Gulf Coast and flooded New Orleans. This devastating storm destroyed 275,000 homes, took out over 400 schools, and changed over 15 million people's lives forever.

One of the major reasons the storm was so destructive, reaching category 4, was because the wetlands on the coast were unable to act as a buffer to prevent the hurricane from reaching land.…

THANK YOU TO CHUCK LIDDELL & EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED IN THE GREEN HOME BUILD

Last Friday, 8/20, MFR met up with Habitat for Humanity, Chuck Liddell, fabulous MFR supporter and auction winner Ignacia, and homeowner Sylvia to continue work on the MFR Green Home.

Since our last build, we've completed the finishing on the awning around the front door. Also, the siding on the top of the house was also taken care of this time.
