1.2 MILLION HAITIANS LIVING ON THE STREETS ARE VULNERABLE TO THE DANGERS OF HURRICANE SEASON

Habitat For Humanity International, one of Music For Relief’s organizational partners in the Download to Donate For Haiti campaign, is currently working to build weather-resistant “transitional” housing. As explained below, Haiti is in the midst of a shelter crisis.

Please donate at musicforrelief.org to ensure a safe rainy season for Haiti.

International aid personnel working in the shelter sector are in a race against the clock; the Caribbean hurricane season is fast approaching. The rainy season poses a major threat to the victims of the January 12th Earthquake currently living in tents and under tarps. Over one million are still in need of weather-proof shelter in Haiti.

According to Habitat For Humanity, “small transitional shelters can be built quickly and provide permanent base structures that can be expanded overtime. The initial transitional shelter will meet Sphere humanitarian standards of adequate living space and provision of water and sanitation. Given Haiti’s history of being affected by natural disasters, the structures will be designed with hurricane- and earthquake-resistant features.”

Your donation to Music For Relief will support Habitat For Humanity’s efforts to provide weather-proof shelter for Haiti during the rainy season. Please read more about HFH’s work in Haiti here.
