Hurricane Earl threatens to make its way into the densely populated areas of North Carolina to New England. As the 2nd major hurricane of the 2010 Atlantic season, Hurricane Earl is sustaining winds at 135 miles per hour. Although forecasters say that the core of the storm won't make landfall, those in the area are advised to stay alert for this Category 4 storm.

Yesterday (Monday), the storm brushed over Puerto Rico and the northeastern Caribbean islands. Power lines were put out, trees were toppled and roofs were blown away. Fortunately, they did not take a direct hit and no casualties were immediately reported.
