DOWNLOAD TO DONATE FOR HAITI FUNDS CONTRIBUTED TO SUPPORT HIGHER EDUCATION FOR YOUNG HAITIANS

Music For Relief recently selected HELP, the Haitian Education and Leadership Program as the final beneficiary of funds raised through Download to Donate for Haiti v2.0.  These funds were allocated to HELP as a part of the Community Grants Program initiated by Direct Relief International that Music for Relief pledged to support via Download to Donate for Haiti in 2011.

HELP supports higher education for talented and disadvantaged young people in Haiti to break the cycle of poverty.  The organization provides merit and need based scholarships to straight-A students throughout Haiti to go to University   (Haiti's University enrollment rate is less than 1%).  Students are encouraged to stay in Haiti after earning their degree.  The goal is to lift the family out of poverty and establish a young, educated population who will stay in Haiti and work to solve the challenges the country faces.
