Thanks to donations from people like you, Music for Relief has funded 12 solar suitcases so far. The team at WE CARE solar traveled to Uganda last month to install Solar Suitcases funded by MFR and others. They visited health clinics and hospitals to bring light that will save lives. Laura Stachel and Hal Aronson, co-founders of WE CARE Solar, installed the suitcases, taught the staff how to use them properly, and celebrated the new solar power systems with the communities they visited. Here are some photos, thank you for making these installations possible:
This dedicated midwife cares for the entire community at the Jaguzi Health Center in Uganda. WE CARE Solar installed a solar suitcase as the community watched and then sang and danced to show their thanks.
Safe Mothers, Safe Babies (SAFE) arranged for WE CARE Solar to install a solar suitcase in Lubiro clinic. Moments after the suitcase was installed, the staff asked Laura Stachel to help with a normal delivery. The woman had a beautiful boy and named him after Hal Aronson, who invented the Solar Suitcase.
A midwifes shows the kerosene lamp that she used to use for light in contrast with the newly installed solar suitcase. She is excited about her new light.
The District Health Officer in Gulu gathered his staff to see the Solar Suitcase demonstration. WE CARE Solar says that the District Health Officer was “impressed with the simplicity and easy operation” of the suitcase and was “delighted to partner with [them].”
Thank you for your support. Your donations provided the WE CARE Solar suitcases that were installed on this visit.
